In the HIV/AIDS Sector in Malawi

Malawi is one of the countries most severely affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Every day, on average, 267 persons contract HIV and 139 persons die of AIDS-related diseases. Uniterra's partners have adopted two main priorities: 1) develop accessibility to community services; and 2) support the capacities of associations, cooperatives and health insurance plans with respect to fighting HIV/AIDS.

IN THE FIELD

We are working in the areas of prevention and advocacy, treatment, care and support as well as institutional capacity building. Some of our projects focus specifically on mainstreaming gender and involving youth in HIV/AIDS prevention.
